This always comes down to a couple of things. What beaches are you going to be skimming for example tidal pools, flattish shoreline or steeper shorebreak. The budget is also another factor and can dictate your decision. If you’re into Flatland and want to hit rails then one of our Slipeezy models is the obvious choice. Flattish shoreline then a Gromlin at the cheap end or possibly an e-glass model Wave board. If It’s Shorebreak then you’re obviously looking at your chosen model in your size. We think as you learn and progress the actual board model isn’t going to bother you but you do need to be on something sized correctly. Carbon is worth the extra spend and you won’t regret it.

We don’t have a formal warranty as whenever an issue comes up that is a legitimate defect (on average once a year ish) then we just replace the board. Defects don’t include boards then have quite clearly been run into things like rocks.

Depends on what you’re comparing our Skimboards to. We are a legit company so comparing them to a $40 store bought special isn’t a great comparison as those boards put simply, don’t work. These a handmade here in the Bay of Islands using the best materials and when compared to similar product produced overseas we are hundreds of dollars cheaper in this part of the world!

The boards get sent in packaging carboard to our predetermined amount with several different shipping companies. Time has shown us that the boards are more than safe from a delivery driver dropping them but nothing can protect them from a vehicle running them over which it turns out, happens. Boards are covered 100% from our end and we even get to deal with the claim. Usually once a year something shocking happens.
